Now's the time to do it!

The G3 is a major leap forwards over last year's model. I thought the G2 from last year was difficult to improve upon, but the MLA (Micro Lens Array) technology used in this G3 set takes everything to a new level. MLA makes the picture considerably brighter but the most noticeable improvement for me is the dynamic range. There is much more gradation in the overall picture. This shows up particularly well in scenes where there are dark areas - the blacks no longer look crushed (which was my only minor gripe from last year).
The G3 now delivers on all fronts. Standard definition sources are upscaled exceptionally well to produce peerless results. When provided with Dolby Vision and HDR feeds things get even better and become truly amazing. The perfect blacks coupled with the high brightness and dynamic range of this TV provides a stunning visual experience.
Build wise, the G3 looks identical to last year. This is a good thing as I consider it is already the sleekest and slimmest design on the market. I particularly like how the G3 just looks great mounted on a wall as it sits almost completely flush with it. You just have to do a little planning to hide the cables and sockets - the effect is easily worth it though. We've still got a bit of painting to do in our new open plan extension but hopefully you see how neatly things can be done in the picture attached.
Overall, I think this is a good time to buy. The MLA tech is a big step forwards compared to the incremental changes between previous models.
